CROSS Research Phase I Clinical Unit is located in Switzerland in the Canton Ticino region. The centre operates in synergy with the local Canton Ethics Committee. Main features of the Phase I Unit:

A large volunteer panel.

26 bed facility among which 6 fully monitored (wireless Escort Vision).

Catering for regular and special diets.

Comprehensive medical equipment.

Clinical pathology service (

Pharmacy with controlled access, full temperature and humidity logging, regularly inspected by Health Authorities.

Special equipments: spirometer, dosimeter, piston aerosol, cardio-cyclettes, SEMA 200 software for ECG digital record transfer, pressory holters, thermorecorder, Tele-alarm, -80° C ultra freezers, validated bio hazard laminar flow hood, (ISO class 5 air quality), data-loggers with electronic logging of the temperatures of freezers and fridges.

Updates computerised system for data analysis and report generation.

Central archive with controlled access and full temperature and humidity logging.

A CROSS staff member is permanently present at the Klinishe Pharmakologie Department of the Vienna Medical University (
http://www.meduniwien.ac.at/) to coordinate and monitor CROSS clinical trials performed in this department and in many others of the Vienna University.
